Alan Wright
Alan
Wright joined Blackpool as a trainee in 1988 following excellent
displays for the England Schoolboys. He became Blackpools then
youngest ever player making his debut aged 16 years and 217 days and
eventually established himself as the clubs first choice left back
and after playing in 121 ganes for Blackpool, he became Kenny
Dalglish's first signing for Blackburn Rovers in the 1991-1992
season. There he helped 'The Rovers' to the Premier League via the
play offs. In 1995 he joined Aston Villa for £1 million and helped
them with the League Cup, beating Leeds United in the final. He was
also elected into the PFA Premier League side by his fellow
professionals. Wright remained at Villa until 2003 when he joined
Middlesbrough for a short spell before linking up with Neil Warnock
at Sheffield United.
